63 rain MSU To Rank 3rd In Per-Pupil Cost From The Commercial Appeal Nashville, Tenn. Bureau NASHVILLE, June 7. Memphis State University's per-pupil appropriation next year will be $1,108 the third highest in the regional university system. The Higher Education Commission said Monday the University of Tennessee system as a whole has the highest per-pupil expenditure of any with $1,460. However, that formidable figure was produced largely because per-pupil expenditures at the UT Medical Units in Memphis, $4,940, are so great.

The Memphis State appropriation is smaller than the $1,238 at Tennessee State University in Nashville and $1,129 at Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. Per-pupil appropriations in 1971-72 will be $1,073 at UTMartin, $1,017 at Jackson State Community College and $1,109 at Dyersburg State Community College, the commission said. A. G.
